A big congratulations to one of our OG at CFET Kirsten Pelot! You have been through so much and somehow you still manage to get your butt in the gym, and work as hard as you possibly can. You are truly an amazing athlete and we couldn’t be more proud of you.

2. How old are you? 50

3. Where did you grow up? Tucson

4. When did you become a member at Crossfit East Tucson? 5 or 6 years ago – off n on…. ?

5. What type of program or exercise/s were you doing before you tried Crossfit?

Swimming and bootcamp style stuff.

6. What is your profession? English Teacher.

7. What else do you like to do outside of Crossfit East Tucson? (Hobbies and likes)

Travel. Evade homework. Hike. Cabin. Fish. Bake. Grill. Photography. You know…. Stuff!

8. How did you find out about Crossfit East Tucson? Looking for something different.

9. When did you first know that Crossfit is right for you?

Once you start, there is very little opportunity to think about anything other than breathing. It’s an escape that doesn’t allow for boredom. Ever.

10. What is your least favorite WOD or movement and why?

Probably snatches & overhead squats. I always end up with nasty knots and headaches for days.

11. What is your favorite WOD or movement?
Power Cleans.

12. Brag about yourself. Since you have been in CFET, we have seen your growth as an athlete. Tell us about your journey.

My coaches keep helping me find avenues around my injuries and limitations. Rather than seeing them as reason to quit or walk away, they find paths to build strength and success. There’s a lot of room to improve, but it’s better to look for another path than the exit.

13. Do you know FRAN? If you do, how do you feel about her and what is your time? If you don’t know her, are you excited to meet her because I heard she is pretty amazing?

She’s one sexy biatch, but it’s been too long. We’ll reestablish our friendship. Don’t call me; I’ll call you. 😉

14. What or who motivates you during your WODs?

If I’m being serious? The people who aren’t here anymore and can’t do any of the things I’m whining about having to do.

15. What is that one thing you thought you could never do at CFET but succeeded to get it done?

Hmmm. I’m upside down again, so when I can do a handstand push up again, I’ll let you know.

16. Tell us something about yourself that not a lot of people know about? The weirder the better. 🙂 Apparently, #2 above. J

17. Do you have any advice for new Crossfitters?

Keep coming. WARM UP. Stay mobile.

18. Who is your favorite Crossfit Athlete?
